Crime 101's title is a double entendre. Jewel thief Mike Davis (Chris Hemsworth) has mastered all the basics of conducting heists, and the cops won't stop cursing and fuming. He also commits most of his crimes along U.S. Route 101, the major north-south highway that cuts through Oregon, California, and Washington. Detective Lou Lubesnick (Mark Ruffalo) is tracking him. How long will it take Tom to catch Jerry here?
The answer to that question is currently only available in theaters. Crime 101 premiered in London on Jan. 28, 2026, before being released in the United States by Amazon MGM Studios on Feb. 13, 2026. However, just like the capture of a criminal mastermind is always inevitable, the crime drama will hit SVOD and PVOD soon, and those who prefer watch movies in the comfort of their living rooms can enjoy it. But how long do Hemsworth and Ruffalo fans have to wait?
When Will 'Crime 101' Be Available To Stream?
The Chris Hemsworth action movie Crime 101 was produced in collaboration by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Working Title Films, The Story Factory, and Wild State Raw. Among these companies, MGM did the heavy lifting, thanks to its resources, which means that the movie will be available to stream on Prime Video in North America once its theatrical run is over.
Before Amazon acquired MGM in 2021, the studio had agreements with various streaming services. However, since the $8.45 billion purchase, the Pay-1 deal has remained in-house. MGM+ (formerly Epix), which is now a separate premium add-on channel on Prime Video (kinda like Hulu on Disney+), also handles some MGM content. However, Prime Video is often the streaming home of MGM's major theatrical releases.
A streaming date for Crime 101 hasn't been announced yet, but based on previous patterns, it's possible to predict when the movie will be available on Streaming Video on Demand (SVOD). In 2025, the average time for MGM theatrical releases to land on Prime Video was approximately 40 to 75 days.
For example, the biographical film Sarah's Oil was released on Nov. 7 and became available to stream on Prime Video on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026. The psychological thriller, After the Hunt, premiered on Oct. 10 and landed on SVOD on Nov. 20, 41 days later. The Accountant 2 also adhered to the 41-day timeframe, premiering theatrically on Apr. 25 and hitting Prime Video on Jun. 5. Crime 101 can thus be expected on Mar. 13 at the earliest or Apr. 26 at the latest.
When Will 'Crime 101' Be Available Digitally?
In line with industry norms, Crime 101 will first be accessible on digital streaming via premium video on demand as soon as it's no longer the hottest thing in theaters. The release patterns of 2025 show that MGM releases are normally made available on PVOD between three and five weeks after they open in theaters.
In 2025, Amazon MGM had one of the shortest theater-to-digital windows of all major studios (averaging about 36 days). This studio tends to be keen on capturing digital sales while the theatrical buzz is still hot. On rare occasions, it skips the PVOD window entirely, moving a film straight from theaters to Prime Video in just a few weeks to drive streaming service subscriptions, as was the case with the disappointing After the Hunt.

Jason Statham's action thriller, A Working Man, premiered theatrically on March 26 before becoming available digitally on April 15 (20 days). The Accountant 2 premiered on April 25 and became available to rent or buy on May 20 (around 25 days). Sarah's Oil, on the other hand, premiered on November 7 and became available on Dec. 2, 2025.
This makes a 25-day window likely for Crime 101. Fans should start checking for it between March 5 and Mar. 8, 2026. You'll find the action thriller on major digital platforms, such as Fandango at Home, Apple TV, and YouTube Movies & TV. What about the dent in your wallet? New PVOD releases tend to range from $19.99 to $29.99 to buy or $14.99 to $24.99 to rent for 48 hours.
