NEW ORLEANS -- Videos taken prior to actor Shia LaBeouf's arrest show him assaulting a man and then being beaten up by bystanders before police arrived. LaBeouf was arrested Tuesday morning shortly after getting into multiple altercations in the French Quarter.
LaBeouf was charged with two counts of simple battery in the incident, which appears to have started when he was thrown out of a bar. According to TMZ, LaBeouf was thrown out of a bar after allegedly starting a fight with a staff member, kicking off the ordeal.
After leaving the bar, footage taken at the scene shows LaBeouf talking to an older man. LaBeouf, dressed in a white shirt, hurls obscenities at the man before then headbutting him. The man does not physically respond to LaBeouf's attack.
Another video taken at the scene shows a now shirtless LaBeouf fighting with people on the street. TMZ reports the people fighting LaBeouf were trying to subdue him until police arrived, but as the actor continued to fight, the situation escalated. LaBeouf is struck at least two times in the face while fighting.
A third video shows LaBeouf being taken to the ground by someone, and receiving treatment following the altercations.
Hours after LaBeouf was released from jail on personal recognizance, he was spotted back in the French Quarter. The "Transformers" star was filmed waving his release papers around, carrying them in his mouth and talking with fans.
