North Alabama is in the spirit of Mardi Gras this year. While it originated in Mobile, it is making its way up north.
While Huntsville is having several events to celebrate the holiday, many smaller cities are also throwing parades and parties to honor the day.
* 7 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.: Carnival Prolic 13.1 & 5k
* 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.: Carnival Street Eats
* 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.: Creation Station - Children's Art Area
* 12 p.m.: Mardi Gras, break to eat and drink
* 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Carnival Prince & Princess Parade (for kids and families)
* 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.: Carnival Canines Costume Contest & Parade
* 6 p.m.: Carnegie Carnival Parade
* Tuesday, February 17, 2026, 5 p.m.: Mardi Gras Parade with a Purpose
