A FAN-FAVOURITE Line of Duty star has revealed the hilarious real reason she's turned down a spot on Celebrity Traitors.
The star snubbed a spot alongside the likes of broadcaster Jonathan Ross, comedian Alan Carr and popstar Paloma Faith during the first ever star studded version of Claudia Winkleman's BBC series.
Yet it's not the pressure of deception or the threat of being banished which played on actress Anna Maxwell Martin's mind when she was approached by telly bosses.
The screen star, 42, who plays Line Of Duty's DCS Patricia Carmichael, told how it was the late filming - and her need for an early night - that meant she turned the opportunity down.
Anna told Jonathan - who was a Traitor - on The Jonathan Ross Show: "Yeah, I would have been with you, darling.
"But, I can see from the civilian one how late it gets on that show.
"That's a Scottish summer and they're not leaving that castle until it gets dark, that's 11pm, 12am...
"If you're a traitor it's 1am... 2am...
"I want to be in bed by 8pm".
Anna was once well known for Bletchley Circle, but has continued to bag big TV roles, which includes Line Of Duty.
Her breakthrough roles came when she played Esther Summerson in the BBC's 2005 adaptation of Bleak House, and "N" in Channel 4's 2008 adaptation of Poppy Shakespeare.
On both the celeb and civilian versions, the contestants don't sleep in the 19th century baronial castle.
Instead, they spend their nights at a hotel near Inverness Airport - the Courtyard by Marriott.
This means players have even more travel time on top of their late night.
In November, Alan Carr was revealed as the first Celebrity Traitors winner.
The Chatty Man had been the bookies' favourite to win the show, after proving he had what it takes as a Traitor and having carried out two murders in plain sight during the series.
The TV star also won the £87,500 prize pot, which went to a charity of his choice.
Alan was a Traitor, and had remained undetected by the Faithfuls throughout.
Fans were thrilled by his win, and took to social media at the time to share their joy.
One wrote: "BEST TRAITOR IN THE HISTORY OF TRAITORS WON ALAN CARR."
Another added: "Oh my Christ this is tv gold."
Celebrity Traitors 2 will take place at some point this year, with BBC One scheduling more seasons all the way up to 2029.
The Sun previouslyexclusively revealed that the man of many faces Michael Sheen has signed up for the next Celebrity Traitors.
We also reported how Rivals star Danny Dyer has signed and was reportedly swayed by watching the likes of Celia Imrie and eventual winner Alan Carr in series one.
Richard E Grant and Downton Abbey's Hugh Bonneville have also both been asked to join the cast for the upcoming series of the murder-mystery game show.
Yet there will be many more big names to come.
