I'm a Celebrity South Africa contestant Sinitta has opened up on her experience on the reality TV competition and her "instant" regret over her exit. Wednesday night's episode saw the singer call out "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here!" during a Bushtucker Trial.
The celebs had been tasked with undertaking the 'Dragged Through Hell' challenge, which saw them chained up in pairs as they had to confront different creepy crawlies to claim stars.
Partnered with Craig Charles, Sinitta found herself struggling to keep up with the others, eventually throwing in the towel.
Hosts Ant and Dec then told Adam Thomas and Scarlett Moffatt that they had to choose which of Sinitta and Craig to send home, following former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts' elimination.
Sinitta volunteered to leave, as it was she who quit the trial, something she explained she "instantly" regretted.
In her exit interview, the singer explained: "I quit because somebody else was telling me to do it. Even if we came last, I wouldn't have quit. I'm not a quitter.
"I quit out of guilt and pressure, not because I'd run out of steam. It was taking me a long time, I admit.
"But what I had in my ear was, 'Oh, Sinitta, just throw it. I'm standing here like a lemon'. To me, [Craig] gave up. I wish I'd fought for myself at the time."
Sinitta first appeared on I'm A Celebrity in 2011 and was the second contestant to be voted out of the jungle during that series.
Talking about how her experience was better this time around, she said: "It was the people. There were lovely people there last time, but honestly, there wasn't the bond we created here.
"I came to grow. I'm a grown woman, it's time to stop being a little girl inside. I feel more robust and resilient now. It's not an act, I am really this strong woman."
I'm a Celebrity... South Africa airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
