Live from London, it's Saturday Night! Saturday Night Live UK will kick off with Tina Fey, a host undoubtedly familiar to fans of the long-running variety show. Wet Leg, who made one of the best indie albums of 2025, will serve as the first musical guest. Episodes will run 75 minutes and air on Sky at 10 p.m. GMT.
Given the popularity of British panel shows in the U.S., SNL UK is likely to be a hit on this side of the pond, too, with cast members familiar to fans of shows like Taskmaster and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. If you're looking to catch the show in the U.S., it will be available to stream the next day, March 22, on Peacock.
Aside from the slightly shorter runtime, the U.K. edition will feature a familiar format, including an opening monologue, musical performances, and the long-running satirical news desk, Weekend Update. Ania Magliano and Paddy Young will co-host the Update segment. SNL creator Lorne Michaels will serve as the executive producer of the British incarnation, which arrives as SNL celebrated its 50th anniversary last year.
Sky TV dropped a teaser for the inaugural episode, with Tina Fey dropping down on the cast dressed as Mary Poppins. In the clip, she pulls out props from her carpet bag to help the cast, including wigs, a long shoe, and a copy of the Epstein files, a reminder that some headlines are inescapable on either side of the Atlantic.
Only the first three episodes have been announced. Jamie Dornan will host next week with musical guests Wolf Alice, and Riz Ahmed hosts the first week of April with Kasabian, suggesting that SNL UK will have a distinctly British flair. Dornan currently stars in the black comedy The Tourist, while Ahmed stars in Bait, a comedy in which his character tries to land the role of the next James Bond.
