A native of Dallas, the Hollywood star keeps close ties to Texas.
As the post‑SXSW buzz begins to fade, it seems a few celebrities aren't quite ready to leave Texas behind. For native Texans, that pull may be even stronger.
Breaking Bad star Jesse Plemons was recently spotted making a quieter kind of appearance, this time at an Austin Habitat for Humanity ReStore.
In a social media post, the organization thanked him, writing, "Huge thanks to Jesse Plemons for stopping by to support our mission. Whether you are a Hollywood star or a star DIYer, your donations are the engine that helps Austin Habitat for Humanity build affordable homes in our community."
Some fans noticed too. Instagram user @hiyasugarflower wrote, "So many celebrities come here for SXSW and far too few of them take a moment to help support the folks who don't benefit from SXSW at all."
During the festival, Austin saw a steady stream of star sightings. Film and entertainment guests including Keke Palmer, Jamie Lee Curtis, Steve Carell, John Stamos, Judd Apatow, Maude Apatow, and Kevin Bacon were spotted at premieres, panels, and special events.
As the live music capital of the world, the city's stages were just as busy. Artists like Lola Young, Don Toliver, BigXThaPlug, Ella Langley, Alanis Morissette, and St. Vincent put on shows throughout the week.
While the wave of celebrities has seemed to pass, it's not completely out of the cards for Texans, with many stars like Plemons calling the Lone Star State home. It's just a matter of who we'll see next.
