Gavin & Stacey icon Ruth Jones has finally addressed whether she will appear in the second season of The Celebrity Traitors. The all-star spin-off of the wildly popular BBC gameshow launched last year with contestants including Jonathan Ross, Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed, Celia Imrie, Cat Burns, and Alan Carr.
Carr eventually took the win after being labelled the worst Traitor the show had ever seen, with a second season soon being confirmed after the show's success.
Since the announcement, the rumour mill has been in overdrive, predicting which stars will be heading to the Scottish highlands.
The Nessa actor has been among the popular names mentioned to appear as a potential cast member, including Danny Dyer, Liam Gallagher, Daisy May Cooper, and Bob Mortimer.
And while she confirmed that she "was asked" to appear on the second season, she is "not doing it".
While being interviewed on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show, she revealed: "I want to address this. I was asked about doing it, and I love the show, and I did think, 'Wouldn't it be great to do it.'
"And then I thought, 'Ah, you'd have to swim in those lakes, you'd have to put on wetsuits...I'd rather watch. So I am not doing it'."
She continued: "However, so many people have texted me saying, 'I hear you're doing Traitors.' And I've said, 'No, I'm not, it's not true.' And then they come back and say, 'Oh, you wouldn't tell us anyway.' So I've had to say, 'Well, wait until it comes out, and then you'll see I'm not on it'."
Former EastEnders star Danny Dyer has also addressed rumours over whether or not he has signed up for season two while on The Jonathan Ross Show.
"That's absolute b******s," he told the host. "I don't know why they're saying it. If they ask me, I'll do it, but no one's asked me. I would f*****g declare it. I'm not on it, you'll see when it comes on."
The Traitors seasons one to four, and The Celebrity Traitors season one, are streaming on BBC iPlayer. Celebrity Traitors season two will air in 2026.
