Florida man allegedly opens fire over 'how many eggs does a chicken lay' discussion
A Florida man opened fire at a group of people over a discussion about how many eggs a chicken can lay earlier this month.
The bizarre confrontation unfolded outside a bar and quickly escalated from casual small talk into a scene that left patrons scrambling for safety.
44-year-old Peter Riera called the police on November 4th, saying he had been robbed and was being chased by three people in Port Saint Lucie.
Brandon Pace, 23; Kayla Damiana, 26; and Tyler McHargue, 23, had been talking to Riera earlier that evening, discussing chickens and egg production.
They told officers the conversation had escalated to the point where Riera - who had introduced himself as Farmer Pete - grew paranoid and thought the trio were going to "jump him".
