PRINCESS Diana's ex butler Paul Burrell was backed to train household staff for sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
An email shows he was wanted after impressing at a conference, describing him as a "class act" and highlighting his 21 years working for the royals.
The March 2001 document, released by the US Department of Justice, concluded: "We highly recommend investigating the possibility of him conducting training sessions for our staff."
It's a fresh example of the paedophile's sleaze creeping further into our Royal Family.
Burrell, 67 -- who entered Royal service at 18 and was known as Di's "Rock" from 1987-97 -- has made clear he was never approached about a role.
He told The Sun: "When the journalist contacted us to say I was in the files, I thought, 'Don't be absurd.'
"Then I was sent the actual email and it turns out that someone, whose name is redacted, was emailing someone else, whose name is also redacted, and had suggested me to train their staff after attending a conference at which I was a speaker.
"It is sickening to the stomach to think that my name was mentioned, even if it was in passing, by these people, whoever they are.
"Clearly I wasn't right for whoever these redacted individuals were, as I was never contacted by them or Epstein, whom I have never spoken to, let alone met.
"But like everyone else hearing snippets from these nefarious files, I would like to know why there are so many names being redacted. Who are they and why are they being protected? It makes no sense that such serious, heinous alleged crimes have taken place and that some people are being shielded through these redactions.
"Surely it is time for unfettered transparency so justice can prevail for all the innocent people affected."
Burrell entered Royal Service as a Buckingham Palace footman and became Queen Elizabeth II's personal footman a year later.
In 1987, he joined the household of Charles and Diana at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, acting as butler to the Princess of Wales until her death in August 1997.
Paul later became a familiar face on TV, finishing runner-up on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2004, appearing on Celebrity Big Brother in 2015, competing in the Australian version of I'm A Celebrity in 2018, and returning for the 2023 UK All Stars edition in South Africa, alongside veteran supermodel Janice Dickinson.
