Ahead of the release of Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the movie has been under CBFC's chopping block. The censor board has suggested 21 major cuts in the spy thriller, including four scenes that depict extreme violence. Scenes tagged by the CBFC include "beheading and kicking," "hitting the head with a cement block," "hitting the head with a hammer," and "smashing the eye." Some other changes include the date of demonetization in the subtitles and Lahore replaced by Delhi. The total cuts clip about 6 minutes from the movie, making its final runtime 3 hours, 49 minutes and 36 seconds.
The internet erupted in a memefest, taking a dig at the censor board for being slack on sexual innuendos and steamy scenes while slicing violence. The audience (particularly the males) is hell-bent on watching the beheading scene that also involves kicking the head like a soccer ball. Dhurandhar: The Revenge fans now await the OTT release to catch the censored scene.
Meanwhile, director Aditya Dhar, in his latest tweet, announced that there could be something worth watching after the credit rolls wrap. Fans speculate about a post-credit scene for hopefully a third, making the Dhurandhar duology a trilogy.
