THE upcoming All Star edition of I'm A Celebrity has been branded the toughest ever.
The series will be back for its second outing next month - three years on from its first ever South Africa series.
But show hosts Ant and Dec have confirmed that stars were subjected to a five hour trial on the programme.
Speaking to The Sun at today's press launch of the programme, the duo confirmed that fans would be in for a treat when it came to the challenges this time around.
Speaking at the launch event ahead of the series return next month, Ant said: "We do see lots of genitalia from animals from the South African savannah."
"When we are doing an eating trial in South Africa, it goes up a level."
Dec added: "One eating trial took so long I think it is now on record as the longest trial ever.
"It took five hours!
"Two of the candidates were competing while the rest of them were sat on the bleachers at the back who weren't taking part in the trial.
"They were meant to be watching, but were falling asleep by the end of it.
"Every now and again they would just wake up and go, 'you can do it!'
Ant added: "It took so long, but it was brilliant and the portion sizes were massive, bigger than we have ever had before. Oh, it's disgusting."
This year's cast includes famous faces such as Scarlett Moffatt, Ashley Roberts and David Haye.
Also on the line-up is Gemma Collins.
Gemma admitted that quitting the show 12 years ago was one of her biggest career regrets.
Speaking at the press launch for I'm A Celebrity All Stars series two, Gemma said: "It didn't work out for me the first time around in there and ever since it's been like this black cloud hanging over my head.
"Obviously I'm older now and I just thought, I have to do this. It was one regret that I had that I left.
"I was absolutely bricking it. I was petrified. My makeup artist slapped me at Heathrow Airport because I actually said I don't think I can actually go through with this.
"But do you know what? I took a deep breath. I went in strong. And to be honest, I think I shut it down.
"It's not the GC in there. It's Gemma Collins as you've never seen her before.
"You'll see me vulnerable in there.
"I was so stripped bare going in there. And because I knew it was so disastrous the time before, I had no chance to back out of any of it."
